Bridges to the Future Gala to Recognize Vital Work of Area Leaders
[FREEPORT, IL – July 13, 2022] – The Freeport Community Foundation announces its Bridges to the Future Gala, scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, at The Muse on Cedar Creek, outside Cedarville, IL. This new event recognizes the vital work of individuals and organizations in our communities and will include presentations of the Matthew A. Marvin Community Impact Award and the Craig Wilson Ecological Stewardship Award.
Matthew A. Marvin Community Impact Award. This award recognizes an individual who has selflessly served the Northwest Illinois community with vision, humility, dedication and enthusiasm. It is named for community leader and philanthropist Matthew A. Marvin, who was a dedicated supporter of the Freeport Community Foundation and significant donor to the Foundation’s Unrestricted Community Needs Fund, its largest granting source.
Craig Wilson Ecological Stewardship Award. This award recognizes an individual or organization that serves the Northwest Illinois community through innovations, education, and awareness in the fields of agriculture, ecology, and conservation. The awards namesake was a Freeport area resident well known for his devotion to agriculture and the out-of-doors, and whom in legacy continues to support the Foundation through The Craig Wilson Trust.
