The Foundation for Northwest Illinois hosted the first ever Gatsby Gala at The Freeport Club on March 22. Gatsby Gala proceeds benefit The Foundation for Northwest Illinois’ Jane Addams Legacy Fund which provides support to nonprofit organizations working to elevate and empower women in Northwest Illinois. Proceeds from this event exceeded $30,000, funds that help to build an endowment that will support the interests of women and girls in our region in perpetuity. At the Gatsby Gala, we celebrated Jananne “JR” Schaffner who was presented with the Jane Addams Legacy Award for her many contributions to the community and her continual elevating and inspiring of women around her. Event co-chairs Bridget Servatius and Doreen OBrien helped us out in the planning of this outstanding event, and for their work in helping to grow the Jane Addams Legacy Fund.
