[FREEPORT, IL – May 3, 2022] – The Freeport Community Foundation welcomes Sarah Flashing as the newest member of the FCF team. In her role as Community Relations Coordinator, Sarah will be responsible for carrying out the Foundation’s marketing & communications objectives by developing and implementing marketing strategies that elevate awareness of FCF and its engagement in northwest Illinois.

Flashing brings many years of marketing and communications experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors and has worked with organizations locally and all around the country. “One of my goals is to streamline our communications and marketing practices in order to widen FCF’s reach in northwest Illinois,” said Sarah Flashing. “Ultimately my work is about creating more awareness of the work and impact of the Freeport Community Foundation. I’m excited to be part of this team!”

Flashing joins Freeport Community Foundation staff members Michelle DeHaven, Executive Director since 2018, and Cindy Carter, Office Manager, since 2012.

Freeport Community Foundation has a 47-year history as a community-based charitable organization guided by community leaders who are dedicated to providing financial solutions for current and future community needs. During that time, the FCF has awarded over $3.6 million in grant funding to non-profit organizations and projects throughout northwest Illinois.
