The Foundation for Northwest Illinois is excited to announce that the JDLF Collective has been awarded a $45,000 grant for their *Farm to Food Pantry* initiative which addresses food insecurity for families throughout Northwest Illinois.
The JDLF Collective, located outside of Elizabeth, Illinois, offers the Farm to Food Pantry program that serves the Northwest Ilinois region. The Collective purchases fresh, locally grown produce from area farmers and delivered it directly to food pantries throughout the area. This is a piece of their 4-pronged strategy to support local farmers by hosting sales outlets for their goods year-round through the indoor marketplace and the website, increase access to food by hosting sales outlets for produce year-round through the indoor marketplace and the website, educate the community about the nutritional benefits of local food, and how to prepare and preserve it. and encouraging more farmers to use regenerative techniques.
