The Foundation for Northwest Illinois has teamed up with Northern Illinois Food Bank and New Jerusalem Food Pantry of Freeport to hold a drive-thru Holiday Meal Box distribution in Freeport on Monday, November 20. At this event, 500 meal boxes will be made available to area families. Volunteers are still needed and those who are interested should contact The Foundation.
“The rising cost of food continues to have a significant impact on families around the country,” stated Michelle DeHaven-Quast, CEO of The Foundation for Northwest Illinois. “We are thankful to our partners and volunteers—and to those who support the work of The Foundation for Northwest Illinois—to ensure that families in Northwest Illinois have food on the table during the holiday season.”

Families will find the following included in each box:
- 12-16 lb. frozen Turkey
- Stuffing
- Turkey Gravy
- Whole Kernel Corn
- Green Beans
- Canned Yams
- Dry Pinto Beans
- Dry Potatoes
- White Rice
- Diced Pears
- Cranberry Sauce
- Hot Cocoa
- Dessert Mix
