[FREEPORT, IL – April 27, 2022] – Freeport Community Foundation (FCF) announces the addition of Matt Moyer of Citizens State Bank (CSB) to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2022. Moyer, who has served as a Community At-Large representative on the Foundation’s Grants Committee since 2019, is eligible to serve two, consecutive three-year terms on the FCF Board.

“We are pleased to welcome Matt Moyer to the FCF Board of Directors,” said Andrea Schultz Winter, FCF Board President.  “Matt brings a wealth of both financial and non-profit Board experience to our organization. He will be very valuable in expanding the Foundation’s growth and furthering the FCF’s mission to empower non-profits to develop solutions that help northwest Illinois communities thrive.”

Moyer is a 2007 graduate of Dakota (IL) High School. After high school, Moyer attended Highland Community College for 2 years prior to transferring to Illinois State University.  Moyer graduated from ISU in May 2012 with a degree in Finance and returned to the area to work for Citizens State Bank. He began his career working as a credit analyst in the organization’s Lena, IL office.  In 2014, Moyer became a Loan Officer focusing on commercial and residential mortgage loans, working out of CSB’s Freeport location.  Moyer also serves as the Finance Committee Chair for the Freeport Salvation Army and is a commissioner for the Freeport Planning Commission.  In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with family.

Freeport Community Foundation has a 47-year history as a community-based charitable organization guided by community leaders who are dedicated to providing financial solutions for current and future community needs. During that time, the FCF has awarded over $3.6 million in grant funding to non-profit organizations and projects throughout northwest Illinois.
